Town of Richmond Offers Amenities For Residents

The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) announces that in response to the impacts of Hurricane Sandy, the following municipality is offering amenities to its residents:

Richmond

  • Potable water distribution (bring containers); Chariho Plaza, 1190 Main St., Wyoming; all day Thursday
  • Potable water distribution (bring containers); Richmond Elementary School, 190 Kingstown Rd., Wyoming; (after 3:30 p.m.)
  • Bottled water distribution (Richmond residents only); Richmond Town Hall, 5 Richmond Townhouse Rd; 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Hot meals; Richmond Carolina Fire Station, 208 Richmond Townhouse Rd.; 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Thursday
  • Showers; Chariho High School (right entrance), 455 Switch Rd., Richmond; 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday
  • Cell phone/laptop charging station; Town Community Center, 1169 Main St., Wyoming; 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday
  • Brush disposal (Richmond residents only); Transfer Station, 51 Buttonwoods Rd., Richmond; 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Friday – Sunday

The list of municipalities offering amenities will be updated at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday. Information on amenity centers is also available by calling 211.

Eric Colburn is a registered licensed Rhode Island Professional Land Surveyor (RI No. 1920) with 40 years of experience in land surveying and land development industries, and president of Foster Survey Company. He is an expert experienced in all aspects of boundary surveying and surveying technologies such as robotic surveying systems, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), AutoCAD Civil 3D, drone surveying, and remote sensing surveys.

Eric has obtained the following professional licenses and certifications:
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (RI No. 1920)
• Licensed Class II Septic System OWTS Designer (RI No. 2052)
• Certified Bottomless Sand Filter Designer
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety & Health Certified.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Society of Professional Land Surveyors (RISPLS) and has been active in many professional land surveying organizations, including ACSM-NES, American Congress on Surveying & Mapping (ACSM), and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). Eric served on the Board of Directors and was past President of the New England Section of the American Congress on Surveying & Mapping (ACSM-NES), which became the Geomatics Society of New England.
